E-compass
The e-compass is a concept (not a product), which aims at reducing environmental footprint (CO2 emission and energy consumption) related with mobility of people. Innovative route planning system will be developed, taking into account real-time traffic condition in order to avoid hotspots, and variance of individual route segments’ altitude (e.g. a route including many steep uphill and downhill segments is relatively energy-demanding), driver’s behaviour, etc. In this explanation, a proposal with respect to uphill and downhill is mentioned.
The existing web application we are working for is not able to obtain real time traffic information. If we implement it, we could reduce more CO2 emission by avoiding hotspots, which leads reducing more CO2.

symbIOTe Smart Mobility
Smart Mobility is a part of symbIOTe, a project that has funding from European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. Smart Mobility is not a product as such, it’s a use-case that will show how symbIoTe-platform can be used to combine cross-domain data to provide useful services to cities and its citizens.
Ideas of possible implementations in Smart Mobility are for example Points of Interests, filtered by certain factors such as air quality, noise pollution and parking availability. Smart Mobility is currently trial in Austria, Portugal and Croatia.
Smart Mobility is very similar to our project, and it uses OpenStreetMap. We are also looking new and innovative ways to implement geolocating services towards greener and healthier environment for citizens.
Eco-traffic signal timing
Eco-traffic signal timing is a concept where traffic can be controlled by collecting information by having vehicles communicate with each other and with the traffic lights. The project is work in progress by the U.S. Department of Transportation and its aim is to reduce emissions, increase safety and mobility in cities. The expectation for the technology is to reduce vehicle crashes by 80%.
There are currently three pilots ongoing building and testing in select roads in New York, Wyoming and Tampa, Florida. If everything goes according to the plan these should be ready late 2018 or early 2019. These pilots will have thousands of cars, hundreds of busses and trucks equipped with the vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to intersection technologies.
They also include hundreds V2I capable intersections and people with smartphone applications that communicate with the system.

Eco-Routing Navigation System Based on Multisource Historical and Real-Time Traffic Information
The paper talks about what components, technologies, algorithms and architectures were required to create a solution for ecological routing. Key point of this paper is report on how the gathered technologies performed and how these technologies could reduce energy consumption when using ecological routing. GPS system manufacturers could use this paper to improve their applications to include ecological routing.

Study talks about development of green transportation structures in big cities. It points out that promotion of green transportation has many benefits, including less traffic congestion and improved air quality. The paper focuses on problems with green transportation in Beijing and how green transportation has affected the development of transportation networks in some big cities.
