How did it go?
The ICT Showroom went by quite nicely. After we had completed the building of the stand in the busy morning, we had fun presenting our project and learning from it.
How did we manage?
We are feeling positive about our presentation in the ICT Showroom. While I (Olavi) might have frozen up during the main jury visit, we got a lot of interested people at our stand during the day.
What was good and what was not so good?
Overall the event was a good experience, we got to meet with interesting companies and projects and saw many new ideas. The only problematic thing was the setting up of the stands, where getting the space for one table was surprisingly hard.
What did you learn out of organising & participating in the Showroom?
In the future we will have to give more thought in to the stand itself and how are we going to present the project on the stand. The event gave us practice on presenting to actual companies and more knowledge on what they want to hear.
What did you learn out of the other projects?
A few of the groups that did well had a lot more active presenting and they tried to get the attention of the visitors. Other groups had a more easier stand to come to with a clearer idea on what the project is about. A common first question for our stand was: "So what is your project about?".
What would you do differently next event?
We are thinking about giving the user direct access to the website right on the stand, either on a computer or a tablet. The presenting could be a bit more active.
